2018 Queen Emma Beard
Welcome everyone to the 61st Annual Hells Canyon Junior Rodeo. My name is Emma Beard. I am 13 years old and in 8th grade at Pine Eagle School. I come from a proud military family. My parents are Luke and Stephanie Beard and my grandparents are Gordon and Tina Griffin. My father is a Veteran of the Iraq War in Operation Iraqi Freedom. My grandfather is now retired from the Army and a veteran of Desert Storm and Afghanistan War Operation Enduring Freedom. I am proud to be an American, and to represent our community and the Hells Canyon Junior Rodeo. I have ridden horses since I was 3 years old. My horse is Segundo. He is an 11 year old Andalusian and my best friend. We are fairly new to the sport of rodeo. I have worked hard over the past year to get him ready for the upcoming season. Segundo and I have trained and competed for 2 years in 3-day Eventing and Dressage. He loves to jump and is very brave and loyal to me. I moved to Halfway in 2015 and started participating in the playdays and fell in love with rodeo. I have had lots of support and encouragment from many people in the community and would like to thank everyone. I want to encourage all kids with a love for horses and rodeo to come to our playdays and participate in our rodeo! I would also like to thank each and every sponsor and volunteer for helping to make our event possible. This is going to be an exciting year! I look forward to seeing everyone there!
